 Valley Isle Road Runners in Maui, HI
The Valley Isle Road Runners (VIRR), founded in 1970 and is a nonprofit organization administrated by a non-paid volunteer elected Board of Directors.

The mission of Valley Isle Road Runners (VIRR) is to promote running and support a vibrant running community on the beautiful island of Maui. Proceeds from races, sponsorships, and membership fees are used to support and develop community programs and running events that the VIRR produces throughout the year, including youth events and sports scholarships.


The Valley Isle Road Runners Association represents Hawaii running at its best and is both a pioneer and pacesetter, serving the running community of Maui over the years.

    About the Race
    • Date: Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 7:30am
    • Where: Wailuku Municipal Parking Lot off Vineyard Street
    • Distance: 10k, elevation is 780 feet gain and descent
    • Course Description: Starting at the Wailuku Municipal parking lot, runners follow Vineyard Street to Main Street up to the scenic Iao Valley State Park*. After the turn around, enjoy a rolling downhill back to Wailuku.
    • Aid Stations: 2 water stations on the course

    • Online registration available until July 27, 11p

      • $35 Non-Members
    • In person registration is $45
      • July 28 during packet pick-up at Request Music
      • July 29 beginning 6:30a at the Wailuku Municipal Parking lot

    Post-Race Activities
    • Light food and refreshments available to all participants at the finish
    • Drawings for prizes from our sponsors
    • Award Ceremony:
      • Top 3 male and female overall
      • First, second, and third place by age groups (Under 19, 20–24, 24–29, 30–34, 34–39, 40–44, 45–49, 50–54, 55–59, 60–64, 65–69, 70+)
